On the 31st January, the Warwickshire Installed Mark Masters Lodge No.1400 met at Kings Heath in Worcestershire to celebrate 50 years in Mark Masonry of one of the most popular men and Masons in the constitution. R.W.Bro David Rawlins recounted his impressive and auspicious history with RW.Bro.Roger Mac before being presented with his certificate and pin by our new Provincial Grand Master, RW.Bro.Phil Wills to the delight of the 115 members of the Mark Degree present. This distinguished throng included our past Most Worshipful Grand Master, Richard Wallis, numerous Right Worshipful brethren, two Grand DC’s as well as Rulers present and past from just about every Order RW Bro.David has ever been a member of!
After the presentation of his certificate RW.Bro.David was greeted with an emotional standing ovation in tribute to his achievements and an outward expression of the respect and admiration or the Mark Provinces of Warwickshire and Worcestershire. To cap it all, RW.Bro.Eric Rymer, Provincial Grand Master for Worcestershire then presented David with a collarette to commemorate his years as a Deputy Provincial Grand Master in that Province.
At the end of the meeting our Provincial Grand Master had two more surprises. The first to declare W.Bro.Nigel Bridges, the long serving Treasurer of 1400 as its Master Elect and to honour W.Bro.Cedric Styles as the recipient of his Certificate of Merit to mark his outstanding contribution to the Mark Social Committee and the Province in general.
It was also announced at the preceding meeting of Warwickshire Installed Commanders Lodge No.1400 that our Provincial Grand Master would take the Commanders Chair in succession to RW Bro.Andrew Sweeney. Please enjoy the gallery of images that for once I have produced in black & white!
