The NHS, Social Care and Frontline Workers’ Day is almost upon us. On Monday 5th July across UGLE we will be celebrating this unique day dedicated to the NHS, social care and all those that work on the front line, who have saved so many lives during the pandemic. The celebration will also remember those workers we have sadly lost and additionally raising money for NHS Charities Together

UGLE is one of the core supporters of the event together with the Cadet Forces, English Heritage, and the Women’s Institute. Along with other Provinces across the country we are being asked to acknowledge 5th July in our respective Masonic Centres by flying the NHS flag or displaying a banner to show our support. Centres in the Province that are in a location with significant vehicular or pedestrian traffic have been supplied with a flag or banner to publicly demonstrate our support.

The running of events has been severely limited by the ongoing Covid restrictions, but if your Centre is holding one you will have been advised via your Lodge Secretary. At 8pm Freemasons will join the rest of the nation in an evening clap for NHS workers, while church bells are set to ring 73 times to celebrate 73 years of the NHS.

Closing the celebrations at 9pm, there will be a toast for all NHS workers by brethren across the country. In Warwickshire there will be a Provincial Zoom call for this, and the toast will be led by the Provincial Grand Master. The PGM is attending Stanley Lates Lodge No.9683 that evening where he will be with other Provincial Rulers, and the rulers of other orders, who will join in the toast. Please join the Zoom Meeting from 8.45pm, it can be accessed with this link: Click here

In Warwickshire we are raising funds for NHS Charities Together and we have created a Just Giving page just for this. Please do support this excellent cause.
