Talk for The Ronald Albutt Lodge of MMM No 1818 23^rd April 2025

On the 23rd of April 2025, we had a presentation from the Deputy Grand Master, RW Bro Frank Spencer of the Mark Degree gave a talk on the Ancient & Masonic Order of the Scarlet Cord.

Scarlet Cord is widely regarded as being a new Order…… even the former Grand Recorder Ryan Williams described it as such in his talk about Companion Orders- and that of course is true- it was inaugurated in 2010.

This revitalisation aimed to preserve and promote the rich traditions and values that this Order embodies, attracting a new generation of members who share a commitment to its principles.
But in actual fact the 2010 inauguration was the re-birth of an Order that had originally come into existence towards the end of the 19^th century.

Through this modern lens, the Order seeks to engage with contemporary society while maintaining a strong connection to its historical roots.
