Sparkling Afternoon Fund Raiser
What started as a proposal for a Ladies Sparkling Afternoon Tea resulted in a grand mixed gathering of Ladies, Mark Masons and friends at the lovely rural location of Bodymoor Heath Village Hall on Saturday 14th June Over 50 people attended and consumed a variety of sandwiches, savouries, scones and cakes. Prosecco and sparkling cordials, plenty of tea and coffee all helped the food go down!
Our fantastic team of helpers turned the hall into a beautiful welcoming space; the tables were decorated with fresh flowers and pretty floral crockery. Relaxing afternoon tunes were a backdrop to laughter and much chatting.
The Mark helpers all looked terrific- even the PGM who had forgotten to bring his dinner trousers! They served with aplomb and wouldn’t have been out of place at the Ritz with their tongs and platters!
Events like this don’t happen without great teamwork; and you know that will always happen when Mark Masons and their partners are involved. A great team effort yesterday produced a super event which has raised around £1000 for the 2027 Festival.
Particular mentions go to the fantastic band of helpers and servers, ‘Cheffy’ John Roberts for his incredible generosity, preparing and donating sausage rolls, scones and cakes for everyone, Julia Phillips for making beautiful cards for sale, all of the proceeds of which were donated, all those who brought raffle prizes and other baked goods, Elizabeth Ratcliffe for a generous donation towards the Prosecco and Cordials and everyone who came, enjoyed themselves and donated generously to our Warwickshire MBF 2027 Festival.
Sandra and I are delighted to be a part of the committee and are dedicated to trying to make Mark Masonry as enjoyable for wives and partners as it is for the Masons themselves.
There will more ladies organised events to come; if you’d like to offer any help then please do contact one of us.
