RW. Bro. Andrew R. Armbrister, RW. Bro. Philip Hall and a passionate group of Freemasons Ride on Tandem for Fisher House.

A Home Away From Home For Our Military Heroes

W Bro. Pete Woodfield, with the unwavering support of R.W. Bro. Philip Hall, Crafts’ Provincial Grand Master of Warwickshire, RW. Bro. Andrew R. Armbrister, Marks’ Provincial Grand Master of Warwickshire, and a dedicated group of Freemasons, is embarking on an inspiring adventure.

This journey not only embodies camaraderie but ignites the spirit of philanthropy that is the heart of the Masonic community.

They will be cycling a tandem bicycle from Fisher House to Fisher House, making stops at every Masonic centre in Warwickshire along the way.

This extraordinary initiative seeks to raise awareness and funds for Warwickshire’s Tercentenary Appeal and the essential work being accomplished at Fisher House.

At each Masonic centre they visit, they will honour the rich history and invaluable contributions of Freemasonry in the region.

As they navigate through breathtaking landscapes, their expedition will also strengthen ties among local Masonic members, reinforcing the principles of brotherhood and service.
Through their actions, the team aspires to motivate others to partake in charitable endeavours, showcasing the profound impact of united efforts within the community.

A Home Away From Home For Our Military Heroes

Beyond those directly impacted by the devastating effects of war, Fisher House also warmly welcomes veterans and personnel who are receiving vital treatment for a variety of serious illnesses, including cancer and organ transplants. This organization strives to provide a supportive environment not only for those affected by combat but also for individuals facing the challenges of health conditions that significantly impact their lives.

When a member of the military is injured while serving abroad, they are swiftly evacuated and flown directly to Birmingham Airport. Upon arrival, these brave individuals are taken straight to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QE), where they receive urgent medical attention from a team of highly skilled doctors who are experts in handling major trauma injuries. This process ensures that they receive the specialised care they need promptly and effectively, making a significant difference in their recovery and treatment outcomes.

Many families have to then travel to Birmingham from all over the UK and even abroad and are faced with paying for hotels, petrol and parking.

Fisher House offers them free accommodation on site with only a five-minute walk from their loved ones. As it’s purely for the family of military personnel it gives them the chance to talk with others going through a similar experience.
