Tuesday, 23 March has been designated a National Day of Reflection.  

The day has been organised by Marie Curie who ask us to join them on this, the first anniversary of the UK lockdown, to reflect on our collective loss, support those who’ve been bereaved, and hope for a brighter future. 

Marie Cure has organised an online event starting at 11.30am, which people need to register to join, and which includes music, poetry, readings and thoughts Click here . This will include a minute’s silence at noon, which will end with the tolling of church bells around the country. 

During the day, we are asked to “Take a moment to connect with friends and family” – send flowers, cards, a letter or email – talk and listen on the phone – join one of the Marie Curie online talks and discussion. 

At 8 pm, people are asked to stand outside and shine a light, with another minute’s silence, or shine a light in their windows.
